Moodboard: May 2020

Lifestyle
Another month in self-isolation, another vision board that doesn’t extend beyond the very immediate future. So let’s jump in, shall we? This month, I’m focusing on the things giving me joy in quarantine – wine, books, fresh flowers, pancakes on Saturday, a coordinated mask & dress look from Tracy Feith, more books… Sandra Oh on the cover of Elle Canada for a bit of fashion fantasy. The Ritz Paris and the Ritz-Carlton Hong Kong… aka the two places I’m flying immediately the moment I’m able to. What are you dreaming about right now? ICYMI, check out last month’s moodboard...

Moodboard: April 2020

Lifestyle
What a month it has been. I don’t know about you, but in terms of motivation and inspiration, I’ve been all over the place in April. Acceptance and joy one day, followed by melancholy and uncertainty the next. Some mornings, I have the drive to feel polished and get dressed up for a #QOOTD/#infitOfTheDay, and others I’ve made a duvet fort on the couch where I don’t move save to refill my water/coffee/wine glass. I’m sure I’m not the only one in this boat! I think we can all afford to give ourselves a bit of break while we...

#FancyFriday Picks

Outfits
In this time of self-isolation, I’ve come to seriously look forward to #FancyFriday. Whether or not I’m participating myself (because honestly, loungewear is life right now), I’ve loved watching the ladies I follow on IG get dolled up. It might seem frivolous to some, but I firmly believe in the magic of dressing up. And after all, in times like these, we need to find reasons to celebrate life more than ever, don’t we? I decided to start living my best quarantine life this week, which includes adding a bit of extra time to get fancy at the end...

#StayHome Loungewear Edit

Outfits
Well, we’re officially into week three of quarantine, and if you’re anything like me, you probably can’t remember the last time you wore actual clothing. My life consists of combing through my loungewear shelves and trying to come up with different pairings that feel cute and fresh, but still cozy. The one thing that has been bringing me joy is trying to wear as many colours and prints as I did during my life in the “outside world.” I treated myself with a few updated pieces when this all began, which has made all of the difference. I’ve included...

Moodboard: March 2020

Uncategorized
Creating my moodboard this month was definitely a challenge that I put off for as long as possible. What can I say? It’s hard to be creative in quarantine. Normally, I love to start the month reflecting on my goals, aspirations, and everything that’s been inspiring me. This month, of course, it has been harder to look to the future when the future feels so uncertain. How can I include short term goals or future travel plans, when my current goals are to put on real clothes and get through the day without crying? And travel… Between cancelled trips...

My London Itinerary

Travel
London is my favourite city in the world, and one that I’ve been lucky to visit countless times in my life. Having gone often with my parents growing up, and then later doing school exchanges there as I got older, returning to London always feels a little bit like coming home. That being said, London is the city I always find changes the most in between visits. There is always a new restaurant, a cool pop-up, a lush floral installation, and a different trendy area! Each visit results in an inevitable reeducation to this amazing city and what to...

Moodboard: February 2020

Lifestyle
I love creating monthly moodboards to act as vision boards, laying out the goals, aspirations, colour palettes, women & motifs that are inspiring me at the time. This month, I’m highlighting a lot of interiors, as I’m manifesting finding and designing the perfect home for us. I’ve also included reminders, like wearing daily SPF and eating delicious, healthful and nutritious food. Numerology is something I don’t follow intensely, but I do find occasional numbers reappearing often. Right now, ten is something I’m seeing frequently. Mantras, too… this month I am reminding myself often that “I am Deliberate and Afraid...

My New York Weekend Itinerary

Travel
Every time I go to New York, I can’t help but post up a storm on IG Stories… there’s just so much to see and do. Inevitably, I get a million DM’s asking for my trip itinerary. I’m finally getting around to sharing every detail of what I consider to be the perfect itinerary for a long weekend in New York City, including where to stay, eat, shop and take photos! Fly If you’re flying from Toronto, I seriously recommend taking Porter Air. It’s a seamlessly easy way to travel, as I find getting to Pearson & going through...

Green for March? Groundbreaking. šŸ’š My moodboar Green for March? Groundbreaking. šŸ’š
My moodboard for this month is heavy on interiors, self-care and ā˜•ļø, as always.
22.02.21-28.02.21 🐢 22.02.21-28.02.21 🐢
Putting on anything besides sweatpants feels like Putting on anything besides sweatpants feels like a pretty grand occasion these days. At the start of lockdown, I was very into the #DressUpFriday and #DressUpToCheerUp challenges, but they’ve since curtailed off to Friday being the day I wear my ā€œgoodā€ sweatpants. With the end of the stay-at-home order in sight, should we make a collective effort to start weaning ourselves out of loungewear and back into clothes with zippers and buttons?
Maybe next week.
Current Skincare Superheroes šŸ¦øā€ā™€ļø
I don’t know about you but my skincare routine has started to slide a little bit. Recently, I’m proud of myself if I can remember to put on serum and moisturizer before bed. So I’m trying to fall back in love with a longer routine by restocking my medicine cabinet with all of my favourites, as well as the special products I tend to save rather than use up:
✨ @summerfridays Overtime Mask is my current favourite mask - it’s the perfect balance of exfoliating and nourishing and smells insanely good
✨ @vintnersdaughter Active Botanical Serum at night for next level glow the following morning (yes, it’s worth the price tag)
✨ @drhauschka.ca Eye Make Remover is gentle and clean and perfect for light makeup days
✨ @caudalie Vinoperfect Radiance Serum is my forever go-to. I go through it like water (approx. 4-5 bottles a year!) because it is that good for fading acne scars and overall glow.
✨ @ctilburymakeup Magic Cream wasn’t something I was ready to love as much as I do. There has never been a better under-makeup cream, and sometimes I wear it solo for instantly healthier looking skin. Plus, it smells like the cream my mother used as a child. Which leads me to...
✨ @elizabetharden Velva Moisture Film. This product is VINTAGE (and by vintage, I mean probably expired), but it is the cream my mother used when I was growing up and I maintain it’s the best moisturizer to ever exist. The smell takes me right back to her bathroom as a child, watching her get ready for the day. Also, can we talk about the epic packaging? We bought every bottle we could find when they stopped producing it and I still have some hoarded (do not @ me about skincare expiry dates I don’t want to know).
@omorovicza Thermal Cleansing Balm is my go-to on heavy makeup days and in the winter. It is so luxurious, calming and gets every last bit of makeup off.

So why not play a little dress up in it, I guess? http://liketk.it/38V81 @liketoknow.it #liketkit
