Spring Uniform

March 31, 2021

Goodness, I’m glad it’s nearly April. After a winter spent indoors, the fresh spring air, warmer weather and new blooms feel so hard-won. While we’re not yet at the end of this unpredictable season, with lockdown lifting in some areas and personal beauty services opening up soon locally, at long last there are sunnier things to look forward to. Personally, I’m counting down the days till I can get a pedicure!

Even moreso, I am just waiting for the weather to get warm enough to wear my spring clothes. Fashion is so seasonal for me and I have uniforms that I attribute to each:

Summer = Feminine day dress (preferably of the Ulla Johnson or LoveShackFancy variety)

Fall = Chunky Knits, Trousers, Heeled Boots

Winter = Opaque Tights, Mini Skirt, Turtleneck

Spring = Blazer, Statement Tee, Straight Leg Jeans

One of the highlights of my winter was receiving my Christmas gifts from my husband. Can you imagine my shock in opening up a white Anine Bing box and discovering this classic oversized blazer and Terry O’Neill print t-shirt inside?! My mouth dropped – I still have no idea how he knew what Anine Bing was, let alone that it’s basically the coolest brand on the market right now. My favourite detail, of course, is that he remembered I had O’Neill’s Faye Dunaway after the Oscars photo hanging in my old apartment, and recognized it immediately.

You guys, I think I spoke a little too soon in my You guys, I think I spoke a little too soon in my newsletter yesterday about how excited I am for beauty services to re-open...
My mantra for April is a bit trite but certainly applicable, especially today:
No Rain, No Flowers

Sending health and good vibes ahead of today’s (likely) announcement of another lockdown - we’re going to get through this.
