Well, hello April. This month, we are taking a pause on girlbossing and instead we are girlresting and girlsleeping. We’re finding commonality with nature. We’re packing up and spending our days in European galleries, eating Danish breakfasts, having a pint at the local, and doing our best stylish Swede impression. I’m full force into accomplishing all I can at work in the next week and a half, and then off on a European vacation three years in the making. We were meant to depart in April 2020, but I’m sure we all know what happened there. This trip’s circumstances,...
It’s March! We are working on wellness! We’re barrelling through our overloaded inbox! We’re swapping champagne towers for martini ones! We are finding inner calm. We’re dreaming big and thinking OTT. We’re staying cozy but looking hella chic while doing it. We’re abhorring boring situations. We’re reminding ourselves that we are exactly in the time and place we’re meant to be. And we’re human beings, but only ironically. Okay? Great. Let’s do it.
Tones of burgundy, merlot, and oxblood seem to be a commonality in my February 2023 mood board. Prada’s purse meets wine carrier feels an appropriate accessory to match. And apparently, plate motifs are speaking to me, appearing in 9 images I’d saved – is my unconscious screaming out about the self-imposed diet I’m currently on? In any case, February is all about creativity, about little nibbles of cheese and olives, about moments of true self-care and how now allowing jealousy into one’s life is the ultimate form of it. I leave for Hawaii this Friday, so naturally, that’s been...
2023… here we are. Naturally, it’s only fitting to type to create a vision board to ring in this new year. 2022 was a pretty fantastic one, all things considered. It was a dream to finally be able to travel again, to see family more frequently, and for the world to feel a little more open than it had for the last two years. I started a new job, built out a new agency, added a furry new member to our little family, and stretched myself in ways I didn’t know I was capable of. Now, in this year...
A mood board to mark the year’s end. From caviar and champagne, to coffee and cozy outfits, voila the vibe of this in-between time of year. Like so many of you, I’m feeling so fortunate to have this week between Christmas and New Year’s off and have no idea what day it is. I’m embracing every moment to nap, shop, make a second pot of coffee, and get deep into reflecting on 2022 and planning for 2023. I always refer to YearCompass as a tool for this, as it really requires a thoughtful approach and almost forces you to...
To be honest, I think that I romanticize Munich a little bit, which makes it pretty tricky for me to create a comprehensive travel guide. This city has always held a special place in my heart – I came here during a very formative time in my teens. I made lifelong friendships, gained a sense of independence, fell in love, tried a million new things and reunited with my family after the longest we’d ever been apart. When I came home, I changed everything: my school, my goals, my friends, my extracurriculars, my career aspirations – it marked a...
August’s mood board is about nostalgia for early 2000’s fashion, creativity abounding, not explaining oneself and, let’s face it, getting my abs back. Work-life balance remains a key theme, as does anticipation for an upcoming New York jaunt this Labour Day weekend. We’re a little neutral (like last month) with some pops of colour. Particularly something beach-ready, gauzy and citron-hued from Rat & Boa.
It’s a total white-out for my July 2022 Mood Board. Between last month’s colour overload and the launch of my latest project, Bonus Track, I’ve had a very vibrant past few weeks. So this long weekend, I’m envisioning a bit of a reset, a palate (or perhaps, palette) cleanser, if you will. I adore long weekends in the city. While everyone is heading to Muskoka, it feels like I have the neighbourhood to myself. Our puppy tyrant is going to stay with her grandparents for two nights, so I’m manifesting a week of slow mornings in white linen pajamas,...
Visiting the Cayman Islands for the first time felt like something magic. I’m not much of a beach vacation person, and actually, my first two trips to the islands were for work purposes – two intense weeks of photoshoots, including pre-sunrise 4AM call times, shots in bat-ridden caves, jellyfish stings, razor rocks and sunburns… yet none of it mattered because all of it took place in paradise with coworkers I adored. While there, I really got to know many corners of the island, shooting at iconic locations during the day and discovering local restaurants in the evenings and on...
